Take The Bait

An angler was having a great afternoon fishing a river. He had a creel full of beautiful good size fish. A farmer came pushing a barrow along the bank. The fisherman said to him:

"Gee, this is certainly a great spot for fishing. I've caught some beauties."

The farmer was dubious.

"I wouldn't eat those fish if I were you. Thousands of myxomatosis rabbits have fallen into that stream and been eaten by the fish. Horrible stories have been told about how the poison affects the fish."

"Is that so? I'm glad you told me. There's no use in taking this lot home. I'll give you a quid if you'll bury them for me somewhere."

"Yeah. I'll help you out."

When the angler had packed up and gone, the farmer took the fish home to show his wife.

"Guess what we're having for tea tonight. A feed of fresh fish."
