Eaten Bait

A boy's parents gave him the job of minding his four-year-old sister while they went shopping. He decided to take her fishing with him. He told his parents later:

I'll never take her again. I didn't catch a thing."

"Why didn't you explain to her that you didn't want any noise?

She'd have been quiet."

"That wasn't the trouble. She ate all the bait."
