Syncopation

A cricketer was going through a very lean A period. He had been dropped from the first eleven and he had not even been selected for the seconds. His wife had insisted he visit the doctor and on his return home asked the outcome.

'He says I'm suffering from syncopation — whatever that is.'

As his wife didn't know either she consulted the dictionary and read: 'Syncopation - an uneven movement from bar to bar.'
