Getting Ready

The elegant batsman strolled to the wicket and carefully took guard and made his mark with great care. He looked around the field, making note of each fielder, did a spot of gardening, adjusted his gloves then indicated he was ready to receive.

The ball was a yorker and knocked back his off stump. 'Isn't that a shame,' said the wicket-keeper. 'Just as you were getting set.'
