Can You Walk

The batsman mistimed the fast bowler and was struck on the pad. The bowler appealed for Ibw, but the batsman paid no attention as he stood leaning on his bat, swinging his damaged leg. Slowly the umpire approached him.

'Can you walk?' he asked kindly.

'I think so.'

'Then walk back to the pavilion, son. You're out!'
